1. Service description
FastDOL provides access to aggregated federal workplace enforcement data through a free public website and a REST API. Data is sourced from publicly available government records — OSHA enforcement and injury data, WHD wage enforcement, MSHA mine safety, EPA environmental compliance, FMCSA motor carrier data, NLRB labor relations, OFLC visa / labor certification, OSHA Form 300A (ITA) employer self-reported injury rates, BLS industry benchmarks, SAM.gov exclusions, USAspending federal contracts, CMS nursing-home records, CPSC and NHTSA recalls, and the UVA Corporate Prosecution Registry.
The website is free for unlimited interactive search. Programmatic API access is available under the free tier (50 lookups / month) or under commercial terms for higher volumes — see enterprise licensing.
2. Data disclaimer
FastDOL data is derived from publicly available federal enforcement records and is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied. FastDOL does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the data.
Any computed risk scores or tiers are produced by FastDOL using a proprietary methodology and do not represent official government assessments. See the methodology page for the formula and known limitations.
Employer profiles are matched across multiple federal agencies using name normalization and location data (state, ZIP code). Matching errors may occur, and records from one employer may be incorrectly attributed to another. To report a record you believe is misattributed, use the “Report incorrect data” link on any employer page or email corrections@fastdol.com.
Self-reported injury rates (DART, TRIR) are based on employer submissions to OSHA and may be subject to underreporting. This service does not constitute legal, insurance, or professional advice.
3. Acceptable use
You may use FastDOL for lawful business purposes including risk assessment, compliance monitoring, journalism, academic research, and due diligence. You may not:
- Systematically scrape, download, or reproduce the database in whole or in part outside the documented API quotas.
- Resell, redistribute, or sublicense FastDOL data without written permission.
- Use the service to discriminate against individuals or harass employers.
- Circumvent rate limits, monthly quotas, or other technical restrictions.
- Share API keys or allow unauthorized third parties to access your account.
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
4. API usage and key revocation
API access is subject to per-key monthly quotas and per-IP rate limits as documented on the docs page. Exceeding either limit returns a 429; quotas reset on the first of each calendar month.
FastDOL reserves the right to revoke API keys, suspend accounts, or terminate access at any time for violation of these terms — including excessive automated scraping, circumvention of rate limits, or any activity that degrades the service for other users. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before or promptly after any such action.
5. Intellectual property
While the underlying government enforcement data is in the public domain, the FastDOL database — including entity resolution, scoring, aggregation, and presentation — constitutes a compilation protected by copyright. You may use API results for your internal business purposes but may not reproduce the database or create a competing product from FastDOL data.
6. Commercial terms
The interactive website and the free API tier are provided at no cost. Commercial volumes, bulk export, licensed redistribution, or other custom arrangements are handled separately under a written agreement — email ben@fastdol.com or see enterprise licensing.
7. Advertising
Some pages reserve space for third-party display advertising (currently Google AdSense, when active). The AdSense script is gated on cookie consent — it does not load until you accept cookies via the consent banner. When loaded, ad networks may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your browsing activity across the web. See our privacy policy for details on how advertising cookies are used and how to opt out.
8. Privacy
See our privacy policy for details on how we handle your data.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, FastDOL shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to damages arising from data inaccuracies, entity matching errors, service interruptions, or reliance on risk scores or enforcement data for business decisions.
In no event shall FastDOL's total aggregate liability for any and all claims arising out of or related to these terms or your use of the service exceed the total amount you paid to FastDOL in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim. If you have not paid any fees to FastDOL, FastDOL's total aggregate liability shall not exceed fifty dollars ($50).
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless FastDOL, its owner, and its affiliates from and against any third-party claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the service; (b) your reliance on FastDOL data, risk scores, or analytics for business, underwriting, employment, contracting, or investment decisions; (c) your violation of these terms; or (d) your violation of any applicable law or regulation.
